Empowering Therapists to Build Profitable, Sustainable, and Values-Aligned Practices
That’s why Brave & Well exists.
Community over competition will always take you farther in your career.
Regardless of your identity, background, and financial resources, you can build a life you were born to have and a business that you feel proud of.
Being a therapist and being an entrepreneur are two different things. Knowing how to embrace an entrepreneurial mindset can unleash great potential.
We are here to remind you…
We know that you know it all too well. There is a lot of gatekeeping that happens in the mental health industry. From insurance companies only reimbursing you for what they deem a “fair rate” to the years you must invest your time, money, and energy before obtaining your license, it can be lonely and exhausting when you finally reach the point to start practicing.
And then…
The pressure doesn’t relent. The math hardly ever lines up where the rate per session times the number of sessions that is physically possible for you to conduct in any given week equals a livable wage.
Therapists are burning out at an alarming rate at a time when we need them most.
We arguably have one of the most important jobs in the world, and yet our work is not valued.
Despite the incredible progress we’ve made in recent years, there is still a stigma around mental health. So if we are successful in getting someone to understand the importance of focusing on their mental health and to start therapy, we have to also come to terms that multiple oppressive systems are working against us all the time.
I know you know this never-ending cycle.
A client starts therapy and then they get to a place where they can no longer afford it because of the laundry list of systems working against them–not enough access to food, transportation, fair wages, health insurance, the list goes on. So you end up offering sliding scale services because you believe in creating more access, yet in choosing to better support your clients and meet them where they are, you can no longer afford to pay your bills.
Sound familiar?
Brave & Well speaks directly to these issues. We acknowledge the systems that we are working under. We advocate for access, equity, and knowledge sharing.
We aim to ensure that mental health therapists feel seen, heard, valued, and supported for who they are and the work that they do.
We provide education and resources to support you in starting your own business and thinking through creative ways to run your business from a place of integrity and values.
We believe in the power of the collective, which is why we aim to build a space that connects like-minded folx so that we can continue to bring awareness to the injustices in the world and the inequities related to pay and value in our field.
We uplift other mental health professionals and aim to highlight their work so that they can build a life of abundance.
Brave & Well is not just about helping you make money—although that is a very important aspect. More importantly, we are here to help therapists build businesses with courageous missions to revolutionize the mental health industry.
Are you ready to get started?
All group offerings via Brave & Well invite folx of all different identities and backgrounds to participate. With those identities come lived experiences that may be rooted in oppression and resistance. While we know that not everyone has had the same journey, these spaces/groups are sacred and brave, and we do not tolerate any forms of hate, racism, and discrimination.
You’ll hear us talking about values a lot because they are foundational.
They help to guide the way when we might feel lost. They provide clarity when presented with multiple options. They ground us back to our truth in moments of overwhelm.
So if you’re curious to know ours… head right on over here to learn more.
